Lossiemouth Community Sports Hub

The Lossiemouth Community Sports Hub, working closely with Moray Council Active Schools Group, aims to encourage and facilitate sporting Clubs and activities for all ages and abilities.

The Sports Hub meets regularly for all participating Clubs to discuss and share the ongoing activities they have planned. The Clubs work together on creating group events such as the inaugural Seafest 5K fun run. Whilst Covid precluded any event in 2020, it is the aim of the Sports Hub to expand this for different abilities in the future.

You can find out more about Sports Hub through this website, contacting the Lossiemouth Community Development Trust or by contacting the Active Schools Group at Moray Council.

🥳 Were delighted to have had notice from Moray Council, that, weather depending, the installation of the new Commerce Street Play Area will begin the week commencing 5th January 2026.

This is a joint community project between LCDT, Lossiemouth Community Council and Moray Council.

More info from Moray Councils Open Spaces department, below -

🛝The existing Zipline, Gravity Bowl, Embankment Slide and the See Saw are to remain.

🛝Following review of community comments on the submitted designs the embankment slide is to be re-installed nearer its original location, sliding into the park, as part of the play area renewal.

🗺️Following a site meeting with the installation team a small amendment to the layout plan has been made to maximise the space available.

⛔The park will be fenced off for the duration of the installation and a temporary compound will be set up to the west of the play area.

❗Moray Council asks that for the duration of the installation the site is not accessed and apologises for any disruption this may cause. It is anticipated the installation should take no more than 5 weeks.

Once complete will it be fenced off & a gated lock to keep it from getting vandalised? Opened in the morning & closed in the evening? They do this in N.Ireland & parks are kept free from kids hanging around and vandalism. Something worth considering?

🥳 We are absolutely delighted that our application to the Moray Council Coastal Communities fund has been successful!

The trust submitted the application on behalf of the stakeholders and the wider community for £20,000 for phase 1 of a long-term project to save the West Beach Car Park for the community. The money will enable us to bring in specialist engineers and other professionals to assess the options for securing the car park and enhancing the facilities.

🙏🏻 A huge thank you and congratulations to our development officers, Kate and Alison, for their commitment and hard work to pull this off, and for rallying the community via our page and the Friends of West Beach Car Park Lossiemouth page!

Well done to the other three Lossiemouth based projects who were also successful!
