Formed in 2014, Lossiemouth Community Development Trust (LCDT) is a Scottish charity based in Lossiemouth, on the beautiful Moray Coast.
Our projects focus on place and infrastructure in the town. We support the regeneration and improvement of facilities in Lossiemouth, and we support other community groups who seek to to the same. Find out about our projects.
We are an independent community-owned and led, membership organisation, governed by a voluntary board of trustees. We have two part-time staff and are supported by a team of cheery volunteers. Would you like to get involved?

With the landowner's support, Moray Golf Club's vision, MKA's expertise and our shared commitment to the community, we're feeling positive that things are heading in the right direction.🤞We're getting there!
A very positive meeting with the landowner and key stakeholders yesterday. Moray Golf Club and Lossiemouth Community Development Trust, with support from the Lossiemouth Community Council, are formulating a joint proposal for the stewardship of the West Beach Car Park and its associated assets to secure the facility and retain access to the beach.
Thanks to funding from Crown Estate Scotland, administered by Foundation Scotland, the LCDT have commissioned specialist engineers and architects to help develop a masterplan for the area, which will help us secure the funding to begin work on coastal defences.
It's slow going, there's still a lot of work to do, a lot of red tape to get through and a lot of money to find, but we're working together for the benefit of the whole community.
Once we have a clear way forward we'll share more information.

Family and Friends Day at RAF Lossiemouth
My week up North, finished with photographing a different type of bird at RAF Lossiemouth. A great day out with an opportunity to get on board the Poseidon MRA 1, which is primarily used to track submarines and also seeing a display by four Typhoon jets with their immense power, speed and noise!
Their display of the Vertical take off was amazing as indeed was their roll of the aircraft. A seagull tried to keep up, and no photos taken in Lossie would be the same without them in the picture!!
As well as the displays there was great children’s entertainment and live music on the stage. It was a pity that it was a bit on the chilly side, but it did not diminish the enjoyment of the day.

ORANGE & CARDAMOM... 🍊🧡
A new recipe in the Shed this week, I have only eaten orange and cardamom cake, never tried baking it! This is my first attempt. Its super orangy with that warm cardamom kick, not too sweet and full of flavour. I will definitely be baking this again, possibly with a few tweaks to perfect it!

DICK ’N’ JIM OOT & ABOOT… CHIPPY EDITION!
This time we were Oot & Aboot in Lossie and, well… when you’re by the seaside, it would be downright rude not to have a chippy.
So off we went to galleyojewel for the important business of fish, chips and a good old-fashioned feed. And judging by the size of that fish… they certainly weren’t messing aboot!
