You can make a difference

Get involved

Would you like Lossiemouth to be a better place to live, work and visit?

Do you have ideas or suggestions?

Can you spare a little time now and again to help out?

There are lots of ways you can get involved, depending on your availability and skills.

Become a member

We are a membership organisation and strong member numbers help with funding. So even if you can’t give your time, just knowing we have your support as a member is a big help.

Membership is open to anyone with an IV31 postcode. There’s no cost and no commitment.

You’ll be added to our mailing list and be the first to be consulted when we need your input. Plus you’ll get regular updates about our projects.  To become a member, download the form here and either email it to dto@lossietrust.org, or pop a copy through the door (8 Pitgaveny St, Lossiemouth IV31 6NS).

As a charity, we rely on external funding to do our work.  Third sector funding is in crisis. We are trying to set up income-generating activities (e.g. motorhomes and renewable energy), but many of our most rewarding projects, such as the growing and the beach wheelchair, will never generate much money.

We need a baseline income to support our office and staff, so that we can continue our work.

You can support the LCDT by making a one-off donation, or by setting up a standing order.  If you are eligible for Gift Aid, please complete this form, every penny will make a difference!

– PayPal to dto@lossietrust.org

– BACS or Standing Order – please email dto@lossietrust.org for details.

– Cash or cheque (payable to Lossiemouth Community Development Trust) to the office.

Volunteer

volunteers helpingOur volunteers make everything possible! We have a fantastic group of volunteers, some of whom just help out now and again, others who can commit to a more regular slot.  Whatever your skill set, we can find a job for you!

Examples of volunteering opportunities include – beach wheelchair hosting, staffing the Visitor Information Centre, food growing, helping at events, fundraising, admin and being a trustee.

Become a trustee

Our Trustees act as energetic ambassadors for the organisation and its goals. They play a key role in guiding our strategic direction, supporting the delivery of major
projects, and contributing to areas such as communications, partnership building, and income generation. Trustees provide valuable insight and oversight, working
closely with our Development Officers to help shape the next phase of our growth.

We want to attract experienced, motivated people who share our passion for Lossiemouth and our commitment to creating a thriving, inclusive, and sustainable community. We particularly welcome applications from individuals who can bring new perspectives, skills, experiences.

We have a document which explains more about becoming a trustee. You can download it here.

Alternatively, pop into the office, email dto@lossietrust.org or speak to any of the current trustees for further information.
