Lossiemouth Seafest

Seafest is an annual summer festival celebrating our fishing heritage. It reaffirms our connection to the sea through a mixture of sports, crafts, arts and social events.

Regular highlights include our Sandcastle Competition – perfect for beach-based family fun, and our Summer Fayre – offering you the tastes and treasures our picturesque locality with over 40 stalls.

Seafest is organised and run by a friendly team of volunteers and supported each year by a variety of local businesses and organisations.

Update – November 2023

Seafest has formally separated from the Lossiemouth Community Development Trust

The Lossiemouth Community Development Trust was formed in 2014 as a single body to represent and promote plans for residents and visitors to Lossiemouth.

A number of projects were identified and incorporated in the original five-year action plan, including the establishment of an annual event to celebrate the fishing heritage of the area, an event which became known as Seafest.

The first Seafest took place in 2014. Over the years, Seafest has been an integral part of the work of the Trust. Through its charitable status, the Trust has secured funding to support the development and promotion of the programme of events.

Thanks to the hardworking committee, the cooperation of the Trust and the support of the community, Seafest has grown to become a much-loved annual event.

As we approach our tenth year of operation, the Seafest committee has opted to formally separate from the LCDT and now operates as an independent organisation.

The LCDT acknowledges and supports this decision and wishes the Seafest committee every success for 2024 and beyond.
